4. What type of entity will you form?

Most of the time many people feel that this is a one-size-fits-all proposition, they may tell you that you should always form an S-corp or always form an LLC. However, everyone has a unique situation that will require a review of the advantages and disadvantages of each entity in regards to the legal and tax consequences of each.

5. Use available resources.

Having an attorney and CPA available to discuss the important legal and tax implications of your business is an important first step. Also consider that your business may have additional licensing or other requirements that ae necessary. Utilize the local chamber of commerce and state agencies that are in place to assist you in navigating this area.
